Joe Biden and his lackeys are lying to you again. From the man himself – or whomever forms the words he tries to speak in his public appearances – to his vice-president to his inept spokesperson to the bureaucratic gangsters infesting his administration, another Big Lie is being spread. “The southern border is closed,” they squawk, “And Republican governors sending illegal immigrants north are exploiting people for political profit.”
Actually, the first part is the outright lie. If a million people are encountered crossing the southern border illegally in FY 2021 (actual figure was adjusted downward by 35% to account for repeat offenders) with another 665,000 “gotaways,” the border is anything but closed – regardless of statements by Secretary Mayorkas and Vice-President Harris to the contrary.
The second part is a little more complex. Republican governors moving illegal immigrants to cities like Washington, D.C.; Chicago; New York and yes, even Martha’s Vineyard doubtless have partly political motives. They are attempts to draw national attention to the fact that Biden and his administration are lying about the southern border. They are also attempts to relieve pressure on the small border cities and towns forced by lack of border security to bear the brunt of illegal immigration. That is why Oscar Leeser is emulating Texas governor Greg Abbott in sending illegal border-crossers northward.
Haven’t heard of Mr. Leeser? No surprise there. He’s the Democrat mayor of El Paso, Texas’ largest border city and one recently swamped by illegal immigration. He’s been bussing people out for months, but without opprobrium from his fellow Democrat pols or castigation from the popular press.
Which brings us to the final point: the Biden administration has “exploited people for political profit” from its inception. Its open-border initiative is intended to the create a permanent Democrat majority through deliberate import of a government-dependent underclass. It was thus important that new arrivals should be confined to Red states or surreptitiously transported there in the dead of night – a common phenomenon well-covered by conservative media outlets, but untouched by the Democrat cheer squad the legacy press has become.
These efforts might be misreading the inclinations of illegal immigrants who, for large part, are devout Christians, family-oriented, hard-working and, due to previous experience deeply suspicious of government. Nevertheless, the Biden administration’s policy and practices continue unabated – which includes lying to the American people about the true situation.
The so-called transgressions of Republican governors consist not in transporting illegal aliens, but in doing so in broad daylight, and to the wrong – read already Democratic – destinations. And since the leaders of these various liberal bastions have for years pounded their chests and signaled their virtue with proclamations that theirs are “sanctuary cities” or “sanctuary states,” their pearl-clutching at the sight of tens or hundreds of brown, Spanish-speaking people landing in their neighborhoods exposes for all to see the cynical fraud Democrat politicians have been committing for years.
Here’s a tip: it’s unwise to boast that “all are welcome” if, at the first opportunity to extend hospitality to newcomers one demands the National Guard to be called up to corral the “trash,” as a Martha’s Vineyard resident offhandedly described the newcomers. Such behavior might create the impression that the boast is insincere or at best, a worthless political slogan.
Similarly, “sanctuary” big-city Democrat mayors might not want to whine too much about the lack of services available for recent arrivals from the southern border if they have never spared a moment to voice support for border towns like McAllen, Brownsville, Nogales and Eagle Pass, whose social and medical support systems have been drowned for two years in the deluge of illegal immigration triggered by the Biden administration’s open-border policies. If a couple of thousand can overwhelm cities with populations in the millions like New York or Chicago, imagine what hundreds of thousands can do to towns with Del Rio’s 35,000.
Progressive Democrat arguments about illegal entry and residence are – and always have been – hogwash. Now, Republican governors and even their fellow Democrat pols hard-pressed by the logical results of their cynicism and virtue-signaling are exposing them for the pious frauds they are. Which is why, from the White House to the Department of Justice to the ACLU, the organs of the authoritarian Progressive state are moving heaven and earth to crush them.
May their efforts to break our country by deliberately ignoring its laws and flooding it with the needy fail. And may they always be remembered for who they are: the faction which released a vicious attack on our nation’s sovereignty using the poorest as cannon fodder.
