What a hoot. Just listened to Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ attack dog in residence trying to poison the well for Donald Trump’s acceptance speech tonight. Seems she criticized the Republican convention for being “All about Trump,” when that’s what the Democrats have been doing throughout the campaign: making it all about Trump’s personality, rather than his policies. Note the argument: “Donald Trump is an evil orange man, because he’s evil. And orange.” And even when she switched to policies, she couldn’t help but fib, confident that no one will check her wild accusations. No, Donald Trump didn’t cancel a “program to predict Coronavirus outbreaks.” What he did was succinctly reported by KTLA:
“The project, launched by the U.S. Agency for International Development in 2009, identified 1,200 different viruses that had the potential to erupt into pandemics, including more than 160 novel coronaviruses. The initiative, called PREDICT, also trained and supported staff in 60 foreign laboratories — including the Wuhan lab that identified SARS-CoV-2, the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19.” So at best, the program failed in any predictive intent: those trained might have detected the virus – but they didn’t tell anyone about it. And others downplayed it. This was a program that, based on what happened, probably needed cancelling.
The rest was equally ridiculous.
