So this is how the Democrat party plans to “win” the 2024 presidential election: by committing ceaseless lawfare against the presumptive Republican candidate, actually suing to keep him off the ballot in states he might win, like Colorado, Pennsylvania and Michigan, where Leftist activists are working with Democrat Attorneys General and sympathetic judges to derail Donald Trump’s campaign.
Yep, those are earnest Democrats, all fighting to “defend democracy” by, you know, making sure you can’t vote for the candidate of your choice. Because you’re just a pack of ignorant slobs out in the hinterland who refuse to take the advice of the Bicoastal elites, who are smarter and more beautiful than you. Yeah, I said the quiet part out loud.
This is a tactic straight out of Lavrentiy Beria’s playbook for totalitarian states: “Show me the man, and I’ll find you the crime.” It’s been a reliable go-to for Democrats since FDR’s “enemies list” of 1935, which singled out wealthy conservative businessmen who were opponents of the “New Deal” for special attention by a politicized Department of Justice and Internal Revenue Service. Even if, like Andrew Mellon, they had been advisors to the administration early on. Especially if, like Wendel Wilkie, they were well-heeled and clever opponents.
In fact, if one reads Amity Shlaes’ “The Forgotten Man,” a detailed and unsympathetic analysis of FDR’s first two terms in office, one is struck by the number of themes which seem familiar: the demonization of wealth; the misappropriation and misapplication of language; the use of the full force of the government against political foes; the buying of votes through distribution of public monies; the hordes of young, hard-left advisors and officials; the complete disregard for massive policy failures and their effects on Main Street; the itch to cater to the largest businesses to the detriment of smaller firms; the utter self-satisfaction of knowing one is right among the upper-level bureaucracy; he lust to accumulate and centralize more and more power in Washington, D.C. and the blinding adherence to ideology despite lack of success… It’s all there, an eerie and disquieting foreshadowing of what has now come to pass.
“There is only one standard, and one system of Justice in this country.”
Mr. Attorney General, you should really apply for the Totalitarian States’ Best Application of Vranyo in a Televised Comment award. “Vranyo” being the Russian (whose else?) word for a lie so transparent that both parties in the conversation know it to be a lie, but the speaker won’t, and the listener can’t, say that it’s a lie out loud. Otherwise he’d be found face down in a ditch somewhere outside of town. It’s a tool of control, because the subtext is “yeah, we both know I’m lying to you, and we also both know there isn’t a dam’ thing you can do about it. So shut up and don’t bother your betters.”
This is the corruption rapidly destroying what’s left of our Republic. It’s worse, much worse than the tawdry corruption of the Biden family, wherein powerful Ukrainian, Chinese and who-knows-whose officials slip millions to Hunter, who passes most of it to “the big guy,” saving some for hookers and blow. The president then suddenly discovers it to be in the national interest to ship hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to Ukraine so they can recycle the warbucks through US arms manufacturers, who will be happy to grease the wheels of the Biden administration with some good old-fashioned Baksheesh. Not to mention the whole parasitic mass of NGOs, led by the Clinton Initiative and poised to fall on a postwar Ukraine “reconstruction” like Hyenas on a gazelle carcass. Most of them are staffed by Democrats, so they will be suitably grateful when the river of public cash flows into their coffers as well.
No. The real corruption lies in insisting that no corruption exists, while preventing the transparency which would allow the ability to confirm for one’s self that everything is aboveboard.
Part of that denial, and that prevention, is the very undemocratic behavior we now see everywhere. Don’t believe the 2020 Presidential election was flawless in all its parts? You are a thought criminal, to be punished to the fullest extent of whatever inappropriate extension of the law might possibly be stretched over your so-called crime to extinguish your free speech rights and throw you into jail. Or at least bankrupt you fighting newly-invented infractions.
Don’t buy climate change orthodoxy with the enthusiasm of a Southern Baptist at a tent revival? Then you’re a “science denier” – the modern equivalent of a Heretic in the plague centuries, and very likely to be in for at least some of the unpleasant fallout from that label.
Believe that men are men, women are women and those who can’t explain the difference are…confused?? Then you are a bigot, a homophobe and probably a terrorist to boot, and the FBI has every right to tail you until it finds a crime to pin on you.
Believe your eyes and ears about the open corruption of the Biden family, the “three monkey” treatment from the Justice system, the media and the instruments of the bureaucratic state? You’re public enemy number one. Get ready for unlimited pretrial detention.
Time has run out, ladies and gentlemen. In 2024, if we do not elect Senators, Representatives and a President intent on flushing out and pruning back the entire rotten federal bureaucracy, the Republic is done for. If we do not elect leaders who act in the national interest for once where immigration is concerned, the nation will be lost and not slowly. If state and local leaders are not elected to stop the infection in education and to put an end to entire systems designed to set us against one another to the ruination of all, we’re toast.
This nation took awhile to build. It has taken more than half a century to be brought to this pass by its enemies, foreign and domestic. Mostly domestic. And it will take both Herculean effort and patience to set it right again. Are we up to it? Time will tell-but if we fail, a light will go out in the world, and it will not be relit for a very long time.
Aux barricades, citoyens…
